Hi friends,

After seeking Elvis autograph for long time, finally I can find one sign cut with JSA certificate. The seller has accepted my counteroffer at Usd 850. So I would like to know your opinions if this one is good and is the price reasonable?

likely authentic.  Price is reasonable.

Looks good to my eyes as well.  I have seen that cut before.  Price is about right.

Mark

Thanks for your help, Terrier & Mark.
I have just got comment from Roger a moment ago. He said that this one is good and he has seen this one before as well. So can you inform any previous posts about this item? Thanks so much.

Spot on, nice signature

Thanks Mark, I also want to have John Lennon in my collection. However, just wonder why John Lennon autograph is even more expensive thanElvis. I have never seen John's signed cut that less than $ 1000.
That's a good question, Kit. I have wondered that myself. It seems like Lennon's cuts actually usually seem to sell for over $1500 and often even close to $2000. At least that's what I've seen more recently.

One of the biggest factors in autograph valuations is supply and demand. Perhaps there's a greater supply of Elvis autographs than Lennon autographs. Popularity also obviously plays a huge role. But both are two of the biggest names in music history. Both are incredibly popular. I think, though, that there's a little bit more of an aura around John Lennon. Not only was he a great musician and singer; he was a great songwriter, which was not part of Elvis' package. Add to that the fact that Lennon was forcibly taken away from us by a heinous act, and then maybe all those things add up to a slightly higher valuation for his autograph.

But that's not to take anything away from Elvis. As celebrities, I love them both (Lennon just a little more). Elvis though was possibly the greatest entertainer of all-time. He performed in such a way that I don't think anyone else could have done, at least until Michael Jackson. Anyway, maybe someone else will chime in.

Thanks for great information, James. How do you think on this Elvis sign cut?

Oh, yes. I think the Elvis cut you show is authentic for sure.

Thanks so much, James.

I really appreciated for all of your help.

No, problem. Your welcome, Kit.

That Elvis is certainly right.  For the price not bad.  If this same signature was on a clear white paper without the odd tearing it would peak about $1,200.

Price for this is based on good quality full autograph, but the paper is affecting its overall value potential.

Ive been collecting Elvis signatures for about 15 years, have several and love them all!  Congratulations!

Yes, it is authentic. It's a very good signature from The King.
