Emma Pollock (ex-Delgados): signed (on cover) Begging The Night vinyl

Fantastic new album by ex-singer with The Delgados. In case you're unfamiliar, these were a classic Scottish indie band making sweeping, epic music long before the likes of Arcade Fire, in particular on The Great Eastern. This new LP really grabbed and surprised me and got a 5-star review in Mojo.

The signed CD is sold out, but I imagine she just signed a few vinyls for her local Monorail shop.

FYI, both the LP and CD are currently out of stock,

Loved The Delgados- 'The Great Eastern' is such a fantastic record.

That's a shame - perhaps my post got the last ones sold! As I say, I suspect she only signed a few.

The entire Delgados catalogue is terrific - Peloton, Hate and Universal Audio don't have a weak track on them imo. And the band were fantastic live on their fairly recent comeback tour dates.

Incidentally, I've not posted very often and now realise I should have posted this topic under Random Signed Music since Emma Pollock isn't a major player, so will try to do better in future!

Here's a random question - I'm going to a signing where the LPs I'm taking have dark covers. Is there a general preference in the community for gold or silver autographs, or is this just a personal preference?

With any in-person signing for your own collection, it's a matter of personal taste in terms of the look.

Something bold enough to stand out clearly, is preferred, I'm sure. If I'm thinking I'll frame it, I might select a Sharpie that matches the color of the potential mat or is harmonious with a color on the item itself, so it depends.

Comic book artist Amanda Conner (known for Harley Quinn) always has dozens of colored markers with her. She takes the time to pick the right one to sign on that particular cover, which may seem odd, but it always makes for a very nicely signed cover.

We've all been stuck with enough black Sharpie on a dark background (the previous Megadeth CD comes to mind) to know how lost those signatures can look.
