Fake JSA stickers on photo's.....I've noticed a lot of these lately on Ebay. What do you think?

In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed several fake JSA stickers on photo's. they are a generic white sticker with the James Spence signature in black and no number. There is no matching certificate accompanying the item, and the sellers are all referring to the sticker as a JSA SOA (stamp of approval). Each of the sellers that I saw had thousands in positive feedback with no negatives. They come across as trustworthy and of course, the average person who has heard of JSA, has no idea that these are fake. Anybody else notice these? Here is a link to one I saw a few minutes ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRAN-TARKENTON-Signed-8x10-Glossy-Photo-JSA...

Of course, this one also has a GAI sticker on it, double the trouble!

Please check link:http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Jordan-Autographed-Bulls-Photograph/d...

Note comment:"Item shipped fast but not as described had two autographs on item that were fake checked out by jsa contacted this seller and got no response about returning product buyer beware ! "

Did you think MJ auto so cheaper?I don't agree that.I am a new man,Hope someone let me know more details.

That Jordan photo is fake. 100%

JSA only uses those stickers on items worth under $20. They would never use it in a Jordan.

Yes you are right that means.I agree with you that means JSA with sticker is dangerous, because We have judge it.there is not No on sticker.

The is exactly why I started this thread. This simple sticker with no ability to verify can be easily reproduced. This Jordan is a perfect example. Fake authentication, fake signature.

I guess it's a typical American business model these days:  See what you can get away with - i.e. how much money you can make on as little work as possible.

The following has been cut from James Spence Website page of Services.

Informational Purposes only and no copyright infringement intended.

Our Stamp of Approval (SOA)

For low-end autographs, you can't beat the James Spence Authentication Stamp of Approval. An unnumbered, logo-trademarked sticker is adhered to your flat single-signed collectible (dimension requirements - 8” x 10” or smaller) after examination. There is no additional paperwork or website registration, just our solid assurance that your autographed items are 100% legitimate. This service costs just $4. The minimum submission is 25 pieces and the values of the qualified products are up to the discretion of the authenticator ($20 or less)Our Stamp of Approval (SOA) service is no longer available.

JSA no longer offers this service. I think it was a good decision or them to discontinue the service.

Thanks for posting this Ronald. It deserves a thread of its own to catch more eyes on a google search.

I have posted the same thing in other discussions. The SOA was a terrible idea and was discontinued.

Hi,

Like this?  This came on a Vincent Price autographed 3x5 index card.  I've been wondering myself.

Thanks,

Mike
