Hi

May i please have member's opinions on this Mercury?

It is part of a larger piece that has been allegedly signed by the full band.

Thanks

This item has been discussed with a few queen collectors weeks ago. The truth is, it's got some good points and some bad. The bad outweighs the good. This isnt what I would consider a safe buy.

I bid on this item on the Saleroom. Went for £280 plus fees.

Says plenty right there. A fully signed Queen item for just 280 hasn't been realistic in many moons, I'm afraid.

I thought that. I just put in a low-ball offer, not expecting to get it, and I didn't...

I'm not an expert, but, like you, I went through phases of liking it...

Indeed. I always say better safe than sorry. At first glance it fits a rushed 79 style, but then you see the odd e in Freddie that isnt naturally connected to anything. The Rs are also very strangely sharp and V-like. Unfortunately, freddie had strange and atypical transition signatures around that time that dont match many genuine examples so it's easy for forgers to screw up on a freddie and just claim it was from the late 70s. Still, I feel you dodged a bullet there, Michael. Hope you did snag a genuine set, though

Thank you very much Michael for that little bit of history, greatly appreciated. And as always Innuendo, your opinions are invaluable and i thank you.

No problem, Matt. I'm always happy to help. Michael, nice! Good luck!

No, I'm in the process of negotiating a Marilyn Monroe signed autograph page...NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt. Did you win the auction, or have you been offered it?

Nope - it is listed on eBay for $1299 US. That is where i came across it.
