Hi Mike. As odd as this Freddie looks, and as short as the Mercury is- it's most likely genuine- however, I wouldn't buy this item personally. Freddies hand from the late 70s into early 1980s did go through a very sloppy transition period and what you got was a very sloppy looking example like this (which is also very easy to fake due to its simplicity). So although this item stands a good chance of being genuine, it would most likely be a nightmare to try to resell, and isn't worth very much because of its quality and style. I'd hold on to my money for a better example of his hand to come up, personally.
+1. It's a crazy looking style with the first D that doesn't fully connect and the awful looking "mini mercury" but he did do that for a very short time. It's probably real but there's a reason why the price is so low. Nobody wants to touch those. Genuine or not. They're ugly and easy to forge. My uncle got them to sign a few times throughout their career and this style for Freddie by far the worst IMO. Invest in a nice 70s set or Hot Space era. Both look good on a wall.

Great, thanks guys - guess I'll pass.
