That’s the first time I’ve seen signed sunglasses but do you know what, I like them.

The signatures are correct for 1988 but are quite basic, due to the lens size, and it must have been awkward signing a shiny convex medium but I’d say there are just enough characteristics to consider them genuine.

Most of everyone I've shown them to said its probably a NEW example of an authentic signature that's not been seen before as there is really nothing to compare it to. Roger is pretty basic and late 80s to the latter 90s are acute in their differences. but Freddie's is a new one for me.

It's not a new style, its just atypical. A one off. You're not going to find a close match for it when it's signed on a tiny domed piece of plastic/glass lol. It's not exactly something they were asked to sign all that often. I'm sure you weren't looking for authentication when your mom obtained it herself, still for what it's worth- it's very plainly genuine.

Just showing off. don't know if I could sell it. im not even sure what it would retail for.

I've offered it up to sell a few times but have always backed out as its just too cool.

think of how small this lens is compared to my thumb on the left.

I wouldn't. It would be valued well below the norm and with it being capable of rubbing off (some already has), shipping alone could further damage it.

Excuse the reply being attached to the wrong comment.*

I see. It's condition that plays into value heavily?

Many things play into value. Condition is a major one however, yes. The item its signed on, the longevity (can it be smudged, removed easily etc), the year it was signed, typical or atypical signatures, rushed etc. All these things play into value. Unfortunately this item, although cool, has an atypical Fred because of the item its signed on, can be easily removed and has already been partially, and is signed on an item that isn't necessarily highly sought after. I'd also really be concerned about shipping causing it to rub against othings and causing futher removal. Cool item to keep, though.
