Here's something interesting I thought I'd share with you all. Some of you might have heard that the remaining members of Queen are making a Freddie Mercury biopic coming to theaters at the end of the year. This movie has been in the making for many years now and most queen fans assumed it would never actually leave the ground. But here it is. In discussing it with a few friends in the field both online and off, I have to agree the movie will provide new exposure to brand new fans and as someone else has so brilliantly put it: more exposure means new fans, new fans means higher demand, higher demand means higher value. I have to say I agree. This is actually something those of us in the queen collecting circle have been noticing over the last few months. Freddie's value has been growing recently and the movie isn't even out yet. For example, last year the going rate for a signed freddie on plain paper was about $400. Today, they are averaging about $550-$600 on plain paper. Last year, a fully signed album was worth about $1,200. Today they are averaging about $1,800/1,900 and growing quickly. Ive been collecting queen for about 40 years (yikes) and I can tell you this is not the same as usual yearly value growth. It's happening much quicker. Genuine Freddie autographs are spending less and less time sitting on sale. Last year it was common to see a freddie signed item for sale for a few days before it was scooped up. These days, we are seeing them being purchased within hours of being offered. Just a heads up for those of you interested in freddie signed items: now is the time to buy (safely). These autographs will be a great investment soon. Who knows how high the value will go this time next year.

As usual if anyone is considering a freddie or queen signed item, I'd be happy to offer my opinions and help.

All the best

Yes sorry had to read your comment again. Was driving and just skimmed it over before. Yes, the BIN for the book is pretty much what it's worth today. I'd guess this time next year itll reach 2K

Sorry. I was driving while responding ( big no no) just read your comment properly. Let me go check and see what the BIN for it is

Oop, just saw fred signed 82 on the top. Both from 82, then.

Normally I would have said it would be valued a little less because with it being signed on separate pages itll be harder to display. You'll need to get creative there (or cut her up). But even with it being on separate pages, itll grow in value soon. It's worth the investment imo.

I don't want to bother you while driving. I don't want to be responsible for an accident haha

But for me personally, I would prefer the book. I like books better than LP's. Just my choice.

The LP just ended and did not sell at $1499

Maybe better luck w/ the book for the seller @ $899 start bid ending in 2.5 days.

I gotter on the watch list

well its time to listen to your better half IMO haha

In fact I can't believe you just admitted to texting and driving. You're a bad bad boy.

The LP did not sell at $1499

Didnt mean to delete the last comment. I'm terrible with mobile! Ah, I thought you meant the BIN was 1499 for it and it sold under that. It was already gone by the time I was able to look it up. With the name dedications itll probably go for 1200. The usual last year for signed albums but higher than what it would have been last year for a dedicated album for sure.

Looks like he just relisted it. Even with the value going up he ain't gonna get 2K for that album with name dedications this week. He needs to rethink that BIN price lol.

what's your evaluation on the book for top market price?

1,100 today taking the name dedication in. Id even say 1,200 is ok, but I would try to get a bit trimmed off for that and the hassle that will come with displaying it. This time next year, who knows. His BIN for that isn't too far off base today.

thx

Did that faded set of sigs ever sell? I think it was being discussed here  approx. a couple weeks ago. 4 sigs in silver, very faded. Anybody know?
