Hey everyone,
Was wondering if I could get some opinions/help regarding an item PPC has up for sale on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Guns-N-Roses-5-Slash-Axl-Duff-Adler-Izzy-Si...
I'm a bit concerned as I've heard some stories about PPC (autopen, Nascar fiasco etc...) and wanted a second opinion. To me the signatures look like they check out but I am a 100% novice in the world of signatures - I'm just basing it off the many examples I've seen on the internet. I know it's certified by PSA/DNA but I've dealt extensively with PSA in terms of trading card grading and know they are far from reliable far too often. I've messaged PPC asking if they know the origin of the autographs (date/time/circumstance) and will update when I get a reply as well from them.
Also, what would we assume a fair price to be for the item? I know PPC has it's stuff massively inflated in terms of pricing.
Thanks for any help.

I've been able to have Axl, Slash, Duff & Adler all sign the body of my guitar. The easiest to obtain were Slash (back when he used to sign after every solo show) and Adler (he'll sign anything). Getting Axl to sign is not hard...but waiting up on him or finding him can be extremely difficult. Duff was actually pretty good about signing, but he was very leery of signing a guitar. I've been trying to add Izzy to the guitar for a few years, and he's a ghost. So is it possible to get all 5 on a guitar? Yes. Is it easy? Not at all. The price reflects that. However, having Axl on the pick guard and not the body diminishes the value IMO. Also, its a cheap, knock-off guitar and not a name brand or style associated with any of the band members.
Yes, in fact I do not consider purchasing anything vandalized with those hideous stickers or maxed out in value like that. Papers DO NOT equate with authenticity. Just look at the bad Bowies and Roger Waters BAS and JSA have passed lately. Or the PSA slabbed secretarial Joan Crawfords. Everyone here has seen items passed by those entities that are obviously no good for whatever reason. NO ONE will look out for your interests like you. Education, not buying first - that is the ticket in my book.

All I will say is I am leery of that company and its multitude of stickers. There are enough lawsuits around here. I wont purchase from them.
+1
Thanks for the advice. I kind of like the fact he signed away from everyone else and in a different color, he's definitely out there haha. I asked Roger to take a look at it as well for the 15$ he charges can't hurt to have his opinion too. I wish it was on a nicer guitar like you mentioned but we all have a budget and honestly I'm not too concerned...if it was an expensive guitar or had been played before it would be way out of my budget range :/
Yes, but he may have never handled the guitar and to some that is important.
I hear you re budget. I can only say I would never buy from them. The first words you typed in your opening post here after the link - listen to yourself.
Since leery/leary was used several times tonight. I found it interesting the word can be spelled either way!
I know what you mean, to me it's not very important though. Getting their signatures personally is not something that will ever be feasible for me really.
I'm a bit confused why people say they would never buy anything from them? I can understand some items being fakes as he is a reseller obviously but that's why I wanted opinions on this specific item in particular to see if he's faked GNR stuff before.
