Genesis Bowie Book. Altered Stock Image? Autopen? Speed of Life...Variations?

Genesis Bowie books Speed of Life signatures, two(?) sellers in same location...anyway, look at the pics. One signature is dated "12" and one is dated "'11" and they both share one of the two apostrophes when fully aligned and adjusted for angle and scale. Are these altered stock images (from/by the Genesis site although I can only find the "2011" image there) or mechanical? They appear to be two different photographs. Other possibilities? I have seen other editions with very different signatures that appear hand-signed. I remember this cropped up with the Station to Station books (dated "'10") and it was never resolved as far as I recall. What do you see/think? Other images from this book most welcome.

Whatever these are, I just realized they should be numbered! The  magenta binding is the deluxe, the other is the limited or collector edition. Either one should be numbered. Photoshopped Genesis materials then? Still seems odd.
