I get it, but I first looked at the mathews and it looks good, so I looked at the Aaron and that style, while I dont particularly care for it, is very similar to many that were passed by Beckett and JSA.  I see the marks but that could be attributed to the contrast with the fading of the ink?

After reading what you suggested, I went back and did some comparisons.  I believe you are correct, good eye!
