Hello and thanks for adding to the forum. Been a lurker for a while.

Has anyone seen the Celebrity Sleuth auction at Regency-Superior Auctioneers http://www.invaluable.com/catalog/searchLots.cfm?scp=c&catalogR...

Supposedly it is all from the founder of the magazine who is selling everything off.  I collect anything Lindsay Lohan so got an alert which is how I found this auction.  There are a few lots of 15 auto pics of hers and I asked for scans of them, originally he only had 3 pics posted.  Going through the  lots there are a ton of sigs.  I found it disturbing that some had to be from the last year and the volume would take forever to collect.

There were a lot of photoshopped nudes that were signed and I would think that the actress wouldnt sign a known fake pic, but I guess in a frenzy it could happen.  The one dead give away was a Jennifer Lawrence hacked photo. Dont really see her signing that.

This guy had it happen 1000's of times though.  To me all the Lindsay sigs look fake and the other lot of worn clithes has a made from home COA with a name that doenst exist.

I asked the auction house how and where all these new sigs came from and got the reply, well they were bought or gotten in person from various people or sellers. A blah answer to me.

I guess I am asking what yall think of these sigs and how do you get them from selling these fakes.  I know some auctions will bundle other people lots to piggyback the main stuff, but just hate knowing people will be sold bad stuff.

If this is in the wrong section, my apologies.

Hello,

Goodness, what to say. A signed nude portrait of Wallace Simpson, Edward in drag? Letters from Blaze describing secret "moments" with JFK leaving the TV/Office and missile crisis for this little rendezvous... letter mentions the Oval Office, Castro, RFK, all you'd want...JFK saying that such a girl would make Castro think more about "making love, not war" when that slogan wasn't even printed until two years later...a nude photo of "Elizabeth Taylor" for $1000 opening bid that is established to be the photographers (Lee Gowland) own wife in 1940..."That" photo of "James Dean" - no mention of age of print, paper type, provenance. Estimates though. And all seem to grade "Condition A" as well. Unsavory at best, "unreal" at worst. Can't look anymore - 3 pages and I'm done.

Some folks will always want "unusual material" - not going to stop that desire or those that feed it. No matter - knowledge is protection, but in this case even something read from a tube of toothpaste would help avoid some of this "stuff".

Best wishes,

                   Eric

There is "peppering the lot", but this is like...borscht! Everything!
