Help & advice on where to sell my GENUINE Paul McCartney signed "little heroes fender Paul McCartney Hofner Violin Bass"

Hi, ive never used any sites like this before so please go easy on me. I have a Little Heroes fender Paul McCartney Violin Bass that Paul signed for me at a Charity event at the Savoy Hotel, London in 2003. We knew Paul and other celebs were attending so I purchased the mini fender prior to the event with a view to hopefully getting Paul to sign it for me. As it turned out he only signed about 10 items that evening and luckily I was first to get my item signed. The item is boxed and still has the original packaging around the fender neck to protect it. I am in no rush to sell and looking at all avenues for where to sell the mini fender. I read last week that Paul McCartney is the 2nd most sought after signature of any living person in the world behind Tiger Woods. Paul no longer signs any items as im sure your aware which will only increase the value of this item over the coming years. This was signed by Paul before my very eyes and has been in a cupboard in my spare room for 10 years, so now is the time to sell onto someone who would appreciate it. Sorry for the long txt but I just want a bit of advice on the best place to sell and how much it could be worth.

Hi Michael,

Can you post a picture? We would need to see it to tell what its value would be, due to the autograph character, etc.

Also, Paul actually is still a very active signer. From my understanding, Paul signing pickguards and hofners is very rare, but he still signs LPs, photos, and other such items every day. From what ive heard, hes hard to get near, but if you can, that he typically is hospitable. I dont think that Paul will continue to sign like he has been doing in the future, but for now at least, he is still an active signer. Ringo on the other hand doesnt sign, at least to the common public.

Hi Michael,

Wow, i never have seen that article. Was it recent? Well who knows, you may very well be correct. If Paul announced he was done, then he probably is. I hadnt heard anything like this before except from Ringo. I know their are sellers who have gotten him recently, but if this has been released in the last couple weeks, then you are certainly correct about the value of your piece. It will sky rocket. If Paul made that announcement and sticks to it like Ringo has, then collectors will probably be in a frenzy to snatch up his autographs.

I also noticed today while looking at RR Auction that they have a Paul M signed Hofner up. Or at least i think they do. In any event, i know they have sold numerous ones in the past, and if you register an account with them, you can search their past auctions and see what values they realized. Signing up is just like signing up at this site, free and doesnt come with any hitches. And is very useful to look up legit examples and see past values. I think this months auction ends on the 19th. Once it closes it should give you a good idea of what your item will bring in.

Hi Steven Jackson, yes thats correct, the article was from the Paul Fraser collectables website. I was just searching a few sites to see if any could give give an indication as to potential value and came across it.. like I said I have never sold anything like this before and just looking for advice on who and where to sell the item to.

I am a total novice, but my brother in law could get just about anyone.....when he lived near the McCartney ranch, before Linda passed, in public when Paul was doing private things, shopping etc. he said it was impossible, he was polite but would not sign.....What a treasure you have there and thanks for sharing any pics you have.....keep it , get it out of the cupboard and enjoy.....I keep my small collection at work on my office wall and boy it helps make those bad days melt away!

If you read the article closely you can see he is referring to when hes out during his private time, likely off tour.  When on tour Paul has always been a fairly good signer.  He picks the time and place he does it, you just have to be there.  He has been a consistently good signer though especially considering his stature as one of the biggest living legends.  I would also love to see a pic of the guitar.  As Carl mentioned, the rarity would not be the autograph itself but what its on.  Getting Paul to sign the body of a guitar or hofner is extremely difficult-next to impossible nowadays.

If you watch the documentary he did on 9/11 you see Sir Paul running from autograph seekers.  He does sign but the guy who follows him from stop light to stop light to get the pick guards signed would be a reason I'd stop signing.  The guy just won't let up.

Also, Sir Paul looks at the camera at one point and talks about his signatures being sold on eBay.  You can tell he is totally turn off by it.
