I tried to send some books out through the mail and couldnt put stamps on for the return envelope because they were too heavy.  I tried to have the clerk weigh the book in the return envelope and get it metered to put in my original mailing envelope and was told I couldnt do this.

I dont want to send a $20 book through the mail with money and hope that the author runs it down to the post office for me.

Im trying to ask what the best way is to mail out something thats heavier than the 12 oz. limit for stamps and have a return envelope with postage already on it?

You know I thought about this and here is what I would do.

I think the best way to go is get a USPS Priority box (if it fits it ships for one price no matter the weight) that the book will fit in then just include the exact same postage and a shipping label back to you in an envelope in said box and you are set. So now all they have to do is open the box sign the book put book back in same box tape it shut and stick the postage and label on the outside back to you.

I actually did this with a boxing glove I wanted signed and it worked perfect.
