Maybe its just me but I hate mini helmets.... I dont understand the interest in them??

I understand that they do not take up as much room as a full size and yes they are less expensive, but having the full size replica or on field style helmet just has so much more of a awesomeness to them.. They also hold value very well and sell for way more..

I buy some photos for on the wall looks, but I like having items that are part of the game or sport that the athlete plays.. I mean you buy baseballs, bats, jerseys, pucks, boxing gloves, helmets, footballs (NFL Duke), basketballs.  All full size and relevant to the sport...

Why a mini helmet?  I dont know just venting; can anyone add to my little rant, maybe I am missing something.

Hahah

Thanks

Geez ahah

I agree Mr. Zipper.

I enjoy mini helmets and have a few signed.  I like the way they look displayed inside of a display cabinet that I have in my hallway at home.  I mainly use them for players I don't feel like shelling out the big bucks for on a full size.  I view them more of like a baseball.  You could make the same argument about a baseball being ridiculous to get signed when you could get a bat, jersey, or something else that holds more value.  But often, it's just easier and they look great when clustered together in a display.

No thats my point... A baseball is used in the sport. Just like basketball, football, bat etc. Mini helmets are not used.. I kind of see them and Im like why not get the player to sign a napkin, or program, or something else. I dont know maybe I am just looking at it wrong, thats actually a good idea to get mediocre players on mini's..

The cuts (pieces of paper signed) and framed under a photo. THAT I DO NOT SEE THE POINT AND WILL NEVER HAVE ONE. Steiner is selling a stip of fabric with a rivera sig on it for 400 BUCKS! UNBELIEVABLE.

I don't like cuts unless they're very rare. I just bought a Maris cut because I can't afford a Maris signed ball or anything else that's more prototypical.

Come on Tyler.  You can't possibly compare a napkin to a mini helmet or even a program.  I do, however, agree with you about the Mariano Rivera chits that Steiner is selling.  Relics of any type are a joke.

I agree Don.  I was going to reply with a comparison of football collectors collecting them in the same way that a baseball collector would collect baseballs.  There is nothing in football that is comparable to a baseball for autograph collectors to collect.  You beat me to it.

I like, and purchase fb mini-helmets.  Only if they are autographed though.

As for some not liking them, If you don't that's fine with me.  To each his own.

Interesting topic. Every collector has their own way of doing things. That's what makes it such a great hobby I think.

I have both full size helmets and mini helmets. I actually like them both. The full size helmets I value more because they are more expensive but I still like the mini helmets. I have players that are favorites.....Cardinal players, I am realistic and know that some of these players signatures are not worth much to Cardinal fans let alone outside the fan base. Many times a full size helmet is worth more blank then with these signatures on it. For these sigs I like the mini helmets.

Getting Fitz or Warner then I go full size helmet every time. Which is why I have too many of both but habit I guess.

If I want the Honey Badger, Dansby, Patrick P or someone like this I use mini helmets.

I do same thing with jerseys and footballs. I get Fitz or Warner on jerseys but others it is to costly and to much space needed so I put the others on footballs.

Same goes for full size bats vs mini bats, or batting helmets vs mini helmets. Etc. Makes no difference to me I like them all. Good thing we are not all NASCAR fans. It would be pretty expensive to only have full size cars signed.

Ha!  Good point Rick.
