Hi All,
Just found this website and I'm hoping to get some help on my autograph from Sir Paul.
I used to work at JFK airport in the late 70's early 80's where I obtained a few celebrity autographs during that time but my most prized is the one Paul gave me in (I think, October) 1984.
I hate to have to sell it, but I had to take early retirement and things are tight around here.
Someone offered my $800.00 a few years ago, but I didn't think that was a good price.
Here's a pic.
I would appreciate any opinions or advice and thanks in advance.
Eileen
That was a fair offer I think
While it is a nice autograph, it is only that, an autograph on a paper. Had you been carrying a 1963 Hofner bass around the airport at the time that would be a different story.
Agreed on price I could see this piece going for 600-1K. What a lot of new collectors soon realize is that a lot goes into the price on a piece, not just who signed it. The legibility of the signature, some celebs will sign a nice full signature or a horrible one (Antonio Banderas, for example) which will affect value. What the signature is on, obviously an album will go for more than lets say an index card. Signing habbits, for exampe robert plant will rarely sign anything zeppelin anymore, so plant on a solo album can for for 150, but on a zeppelin album, 300-400. Wether or not it comes with JSA certification, and so much more. All that being said, this does have the uniqueness of having a sketch, and its already framed, so 1K could be possible.
very nice autograph. $800.00 seems fair since its on a plain piece of paper. But very nice.
real sweet, i would have taken that price and ran though.
by the way, what was the size of this document?
I think 800.00 was a good price especially a few years ago. but the way Paul signd now, a somewhat sloppy 'Paul', this could still be worth it. I dont think he will ever sign this nice again.
I know what you mean. I also had an autograph he did for me on a Liverpool tourist pamphlet when I met him at LIPA. Just by pure coincidence he happened to be there when we were. That autograph was just a squiggly line. I don't know if anyone could tell he signed it.
Yea, but back then my finances were much better and believe me, this breaks my heart to have to sell it.
