If 90% of everything is fake, why wouldn't you spend the money to buy something in the 10% thats real?   Personally I've had a great roi buying and selling autographs over the last 10 years, and i've spent well over $10,000.

The hobby is frustrating at times, but there is no need to be cynical in a forum geared towards helping people and the hobby.  Fellow collectors are all we have in the battle against forgeries, we don't need to alienate each other.

Fuddjcal, it seems odd to me that you would not spend any $$ on any autograph, then why collect? Do you even own any autographs in your collection? Why join a forum full of autograph enthusiasts who enjoy collecting and enjoy the thrill of the hunt, and tell them that 90% of autos are fake. If you think you have it all figured out then you should retire from this website.

Robin, no need to retire. Someone has to represent the voice of reason with the many knumbskulls that do still collect. I'm STUCK with over $20,000 worth of signed balls, photos and other trinkets. I will not sell on E-bay because I don't want to give those cheater F ers 1 nickel in commission.

I still try to enjoy the photos and balls in my office, but to continue to support something I KNOW is as crooked as Lombard street , I would be a hypocrite. You are part of the problem. It is Foolhardy to believe that 90% of all autographs aren't forgeries. NEWSFLASH Robin:THEY ARE. I know you don't want to believe it, but it is a fact. I want to believe that Santa Claus is coming down the chimney on Dec 24th too, but that doesn't mean it's so.

So to answer your question, I am stuck with this garbage. I enjoy it as much as a root canal these days, but I'll be damned if I'm giving E-bay or another big conglomerate 1 penny to sell it. My grand kids can have a field day with it when I'm gone. I could care LESS. My bet is that if it continues on this same trajectory, this garbage will be worth 1/4 of what was paid for it anyhow.

Yes, I do do have it figured out. Maybe in a few years you'll come to the same conclusion or maybe not, that's up to you?

I'm not going to let some unsuspecting Nellie chase me off a blog site however Robin. All the best and Happy Collecting!
