I just finished reading a biography of General Robert E. Lee. I discovered that the Lee's last thing he did while president of Lee College and the day of the night he had a stroke, was autograph a photo of himself for a young lady.

Lee had worked late at the college and had locked the front door and was descending the steps when a young girl ran up to him asking if he would sign her cherished photo of him. Although tired and extremely fatigued, Lee returned to his office with the young girl at his heels. He kindly signed the classic profile image of himself for the young girl. She thanked him and departed.

That night, Lee had a stroke and had to abandon being president of Lee College.

I'd love to know who that young lady was and what became of the autographed photo of Lee.

as always
