Wow those are bad. Look at thiscrazy looking Rush LP offered at $50 bucks. Already has an unknowing bidder throwing their money away.

not to defend this seller, but there is another rush autographed album on ebay where the signatures are the same or very close and this seller is asking $1,500.

i am not an expert. how can i tell?

Those two are really very different. The one I posted is a horrible forgery. The one you posted I can't see really well but looks more like it should. I'm on my iPhone so hard to see. Go look at Rogers site. He has some nice Rush items at a third of the price. I know his are legit.

When in doubt on purchasing a fairly pricey item, always consult others before purchase. You can ask the members here, and if you want to be sure, then ask Roger Epperson. For 15 bucks he will give you his quick opinion, and if he says its good, it is. He is an expert on rock, and he has sold many Rush items. He could tell you very quickly. But Rick is right, those Rush signatures Rick posted are bad forgeries.

It's pretty sad when you're forging Judi Dench.

If you take a few steps back and look at everything this guy is selling, most of it really looks like it was signed by the same person.

G'day folks, there are several of the signatures offered by this seller than I am simply not competent to comment upon but those that I do know ... I know well and the ones offered by "irishbox77" are, in my humble opinion, not even close to being legitimate. Let me expand ...

Ernie Els - (crikey, the seller says he has SIX available ... wish I could get Ernie to sign six at a time for me !!) and the offered photos show a poor attempt at Ernie's (post 2002) signature. The whole signature is just formed incorrectly. The initial "E" - wrong; the other characters of the first name - wrong; the completing "ls" - wrong; and especially the trailing end of that signature rather than Ernie's classic down and back "kick" for his "s".

For reference here are some legitimate signatures from Ernie from my private collection :

I don't think it is necessary to post any more photos for your comparison but I think you get the point that the Ernie Els "signature" being offered by 'irishbox77' is highly atypical ... to say the least and really does not exhibit any of the characteristics that we find in legitimate signatures from "The Big Easy".

In legitimate signatures you will notice that Ernie starts his signature with a long, upstroke that forms the inside of his DEEP, capital "E". This is an absolute standard classic. It's always there. Compare that with the horrid, shallow, upper loop in the 'irishbox77' offering. Take a look at how Ernie, in genuine exemplars, completes his signature by forming an "s" ... then take a look at that squiggly line in the 'irishbox77' offering. These two features ALONE clang enormous alarm bells ringing out "bing bong - Ernie didn't sign this" :) I won't bore you with the other points of comparison because I'm sure you get the idea now :)

If the above is useful to anyone then I am happy to provide similar insights into the Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Krupa and Anna Kournikova "signatures" being offered by this seller and, sad to say, these offerings from 'irishbox77' are equally horrendous :(

Hope that helps and all the best

David

Just checked - the Ernie Els, Dame Judi Dench and Anna Kournikova "signatures" being offered by this seller appear to have been removed but, sadly, the one from Joanna Krupa is still there :( Best wishes, David.

For those interested, here is the Joanna Krupa item being offered by seller irishbox77 on eBay :

To begin with, it is rare indeed to get a full-name autograph from Joanna - she generally just uses her surname, take a look at this :

However, on those rare occasions that we do get a full name autograph, not only is it REALLY a treat but christian name and surname are separate, they do not "run together". Take a look :

Now, take a look at the "K" with which Joanna starts her surname; it always starts with a striking, positive, down-stroke that is then completed with that wonderful looping stroke starting from top right, down across, the loop which then is finished with then pen bringing brought into that "going down" again manner.

Here's another example of that :

Sometimes, you WILL find that Joanna does not lift the pen at the bottom of her initial down-stroke and there is a more continuous line to the top of her loop .... take a look ...

but that characteristic, looping "K" is always present.

SO, there you have just two things that you'll find are highly atypical in the signature on the item offered by this seller.

Not to overly labour the point but, if you're interested, compare the manner in which Joanna completes her signature with that "pa" in the legitimate exemplars shown with that signature from this eBay seller. I'm sure you get the idea :)

I've got several more signed items from Joanna that I have collected over the years and any of them that I compare to this offering simply confirms what I've written above.

Hope these few points help anyone who is interested in collecting signed items from this lovely and charming lady.

Happy collecting,

David

Im sorry David, but i couldnt focus on a word you said. I was too busy drooling.

G'day Carl, don't worry about it .... I've already had to replace my keyboard four times (!!) and I haven't even started my discussions on Klum and, Kurkova. Maybe I should stick to golf - never have this problem taking about Lee Trevino .... ha ha ha :)
