Is Collecting Autographs Less Profitable ((From One Generation to the Next?? ))

I am fairly new to collecting autographs  - and I do like to collect (as a hobby) and also because I am in hopes that the autographs that I do collect, may someday be valuable as an investment ( in case I need some cash as a nest egg of sorts) - Such as say  with a major signer like one of the Beatles autographs, etc? But I also  did hear that the next generation (the one younger than me), may not necessarily be interested in the same autographs (that I am interested in) and that this will determine AND QUITE POSSIBLY devalue the autographs that I have collected myself over a lifetime?..Can someone shed any light on this subject?? TY! =]

Don't get me wrong, I collect autographs of all kinds and I have been doing so for 35 years. I just happen to collect the celebs whose work I enjoy. Having a massive Star Wars collection and a bunch of Godfather autographs as well as a multitude of autographs from the Marvel Universe ....I know that they have stood the test of time and that they will likely hold some degree of value.

That does not stop me from collecting LOST, Game of Thrones, NCIS, Buffy, Firefly, Highlander, The Princess Bride, Bruce Willis, Tarentino and Kevin Smith films. They are shows and films that I love and I don't care if they will retain their value after I am gone.... It's all about balance.

The Princess Bride?  I guess that it is now officially time for me to see that film.  My friend has been telling me about it for years.  I thought that he was joking.

Don't waste another day....join Netfilx right now and download/watch it tonight.

You will never be able to hear the name Inigo Montoya again without completing the line.

Some of the best sword work ever put on film thanks to Peter Diamond and Bob Anderson.

and Andre the Giant.

Watching Close Encounters and the Academy Awards tonight.  Just added The Princess Bride to my Netflix DVD queue.  Thanks for the recommendation Pete.
