Is "American Authentication Company" reliable? U2 autographs photos authenticated by it....

Hi everyone,

This is my first time here. Good to join

I'm interested in purchasing a U2 signed photo and I keep seeing sellers (mostly at iOffer) providing a COA of a company by the name of "American Authentication" (www.americanauthentication.com). I've never heard of this company and when trying to Google them, other than their website I cannot find any other information on them.

Does anyone have info on them?

Much appreciated

Dan

Thanks. It doesn't need to be an LP necessarily. As you said I'm just looking for something singed by the whole band. BTW, why Mullen is a non-signer now?

I'm not entirely sure what Mullen's deal is now, but he's easily the toughest autograph of the group now and has been for years.  Many fans and collectors alike will verify this.  Toughest one to meet, period.  Very elusive in contrast to the others.  Not impossible (I did have a friend who got a photo with him in NYC a couple months back), but difficult.

This is authentic if you want to keep an eye on it.  It's inscribed, which is not uncommon for the 2006 book signings.  I've seen at least two uninscribed authentic copies sell for $1300+ in recent weeks.

Thank you!

No problem.  Feel free to ask about items you come across.  Most of what's on Ebay is fake, and the authentic items tend to be extremely overpriced.  Every once in a while there's a decent deal  . . . or even a rare bargain.

Thank you very much! I'm glad I signed up here....

I just noticed that R&R Auction has four authentic examples for up for auction next month.  This is a reputable, high-profile auction site, so I doubt any of these items will end anywhere near the $200 minimum, but these are nice examples from a few different eras.

Thanks. I submitted my bid....

What do you make out of these 2 others I'm attaching?

The guy tells me he personally got them outside of a hotel in California. He also said that the photo of Bono signing the CD was taken when he was there.

What intrigues me is the fact that we was "able" to have the band sign BOTH the cover and the CD...is that normal?

Attachments: No photo uploads here

These are real bad. I don't like them at all. There is a few times that a person sign the actual disc also. But this is rare.

The guy now told me that he got those on two sperated occasions (he said that it was obtained at a hotel in LA during the zoo tv tour and also recieved the bands autograph in New York during a HTDAB listening party) and acctualy was really cooperated and sent it for a Quick Opinion without giving any excuses...lets see what will be the result..:)

Neither of those CDs has any chance at being real.  They bear no resemblance to authentic signatures from the band in any era.

Edit:  Nevermind, I thought this Ebay link had been removed but I do see the original (now ended) listing is still there.

If authentic, a pair of full band U2 autographs for $325 would have been instantly sold, not relisted several times.
