Is this George Carlin signature real?

A local record shop has a copy of Carlin's "FM & AM" album in the bins and I noticed that it's signed at the bottom. The record is priced cheap, so I'm guessing either it's bad or (more likely, knowing the staff) they didn't notice it. Checking the web, it looks like Carlin's signature changed pretty drastically over time, but there's a few vintage autographs I spotted that looked very similar, most notably the distinctive C starting with the downward stroke. I snapped a shot and left the record there but will go back and get it if you guys think it's good.

Priced low...I would have snapped it up right there on that hunch.  Hope no one grabs it right out of your arms before you get back there.

So I went back and grabbed it. As you might imagine, I'm pretty happy with the price. :D
