I know obama's autograph really well. There's no provenance on this one. The signature is an interesting one. What sets it apart and makes me think it may not be authentic is the B in barack...the middle of the B circles and the end of his "B" circles off and down. In most authentic examples, the end of the B is connected to the rest of Barack and slants UP to the "A".. But the slants and contours look spot on. Is this his long version of his autograph??

I don't think this is authentic.  the slant on the "bama" squiggle is too much like many forgeries I have seen.  and also your point on the B.

I would pass, does not look right to me.

I would bet that this is authentic. I have seen Obama graphs that look like this. What I am looking is to reaffirm its authentic is the pen. This would of been the pen he carried around, although Obama signs many autos as he leaves for the State of The Union (they think hes like bon jovi)!

But the graph looks good, it has a left hand slant, I would bet its good.

Oh yeah, When he was a senator he released a book and did several book signings. He signed them with a full graph similar to this one....

take a look.

Have you seen any others with that loopy B that underlines "arack"?
I've never seen an example of Obama's signature like this one. Chad's and Terrier's points are on target. I'd need more examples before I'd be convinced it's good. Just too atypical.

When Obama did those signings I spoke about above he signed it similar to this example, and the one in question. But he stacked his autograph...Barrack on the top and on the bottom shifted a little to the right was the obama portion. And if you notice obamas slash mark in his "o" are always to the left of the "O".

The books that were signed when he was senator are rare on ebay nowadays, im sure someone could dig up a sample though.

Gosh- you guys are making a convincing argument. The 'O' is perfect ...it's the the inconsistencies in the 'B' and how it just falls off at the end. I agree that the autograph definitely has the slant of a left handed person ...I would just really want to see another example similar to this one before making a call on it.

And the loop in the middle of the B is also inconsistent! Every single book signed auto i've ever seen doesn't have a loop...the middle of the B comes to a point. So that's another red flag.....Anyone want to comment on that specifically or has an authentic example with a loop in the middle of the B?

Looking forward to getting to the bottom of this-

Thanks for your help guys-

Chad

I'd Agree!! But it's sooooo close....i wish i could just ask barack himself lol..
