He was comparing them to signed books Ballroom not the Debut LP.  Please don't confuse the readers.  All of the ones he received match up quite nicely with known in person autographs whether rushed or not.  Nice "J", leaning "l's" dotting "i's" near the end in nearly all of the signatures and NONE of them like the signed books.  Great score Mark.

check your earlier post about legal action and being afraid of it if a statement had been made.

of course I said that from your earlier statement.

I didn't read into anything that said his tired or "old man" signature compared to an old man or tired signature of an in person example.  The books don't look anything like a known in person or photographed mailed in sample that has been displayed here or anywhere.  THere have been many rushed and sloppy signatures on this site that have the same characteristics of known in person ones.  Those too look nothing like the very consistent signed books by the hundreds.

I am going out for the evening to see Ace Frehley and will not be able to comment anymore tonight but I think my point has been made.

All I was saying is that if I believed that I had falsely accused someone of fraud, I would be concerned about possible legal action.

Would you think that the ones that Mark just received were all signed by the same person?

I would definitely think the ones Mark received were all signed by the same hand...

thanks Roger!

Mark

Also please note - The new ones I just got were signed with a gel type ink pen, not a marker.  Might have been harder to sign with that type of pen on the album and album labels.  I know he used the pen because they left it in the package.  :)  Kinda cool.....  The 1st ones I got TTM were signed with sharpie - thus flows a lot easier.  Just an observation.

Mark

Ballroom, I for one am not the least bit worried about legal action over comments on this forum. I have always used the terms in my opinion, it looks like and doesn't appear to be signed in the same hand. If the JLL organization were to go there, I would enter these photos as evidence. In my opinion, I don't believe its possible they were signed by the same hand.

Mark - Good observation & point!  (about the pen used)

It looks like Jerry Lee took care of you. Very Cool.

I appreciate the comments and like seeing a current, authentic example.

This is the nicest of the book signature that I’ve seen so far. It appears to contain the distinctive formation of the first “R” that we saw in the TTM discussion. He sometimes elongates the second “r”, which is the case here. It also has the two different styles of “E” in “Lee”.

Compare the “Lee” to this one, which by comparison has broken down quite a bit. Also notice how the bottom of the “Y” in one signature breaks to the left while the other breaks to the right, which is consistent with the series of in-person pick guard signatures.

Some of these have the distinctive hook “S” at the end of the signature.

The hook "S" from RR Auction:

Here is Mantle's recent book "signings", he must've been in an extraordinary mood:

That looks like the new variation he started while in heaven. It's legit!
