never thought my innocent question would provoke such a response , and I still haven't got a jerry lee autograph genuine or fake !!!

I'm not trying to be combative. I know and have proof of illegally signed autographs. That's all I'm going to say. It isn't geared at you Alan.

Can you tell us more about the proof of illegally signed autographs? That might save everyone some future heartache and money. Thanks

How would DNA possibly authenticate autographs? I'm confused but that happens now and again.

I get confused too. All I'm saying is - I don't care what the spin is - who said what - the buck stops with Jerry and his wife, and then the management, and then the publishing company, and the people that were supposed to receive alleged signed first editions. They're not authentic. Any autograph expert will tell us these things. His DNA would be on the books if he indeed signed them all. I mean it really isn't that difficult. We make it difficult. I've heard such ridiculous stories. There is a NUTCASE who lives in Texas quoting "Jerry doesn't deserve this negative publicity" and someone started this as a grudge. He doesn't even know him. In my opinion Jerry Lee Lewis has the MOST DYSFUNCTIONAL Fan club ever if that's what you want to call it. Since when did Jerry start dotting his i in Lewis under the e?

Permit a little different perspective.

I'm inclined to agree with Steve on this. Everyone is responsible. But the publishing company, Harper Collins, is at the top of the list.

Why?

Because it put the book in the stream of commerce.
It printed this special edition.
It prmoted the book with the event at Barnes & Noble.
It had the responsibility to guarantee the signatures are authentic.
Failure to do so may not have been out and out fraud (The company presumably didn't create this situation intentionally).
But the lack of oversight demonstrates negligence.

The buck starts and stops with the publisher.

I agree and concur with that. I think TMZ needs to get a hold of this.

As Jerry Lee Lewis' mother Mamie used to say "There is a dead cat on the line".  Ballroom Days we AGREE to DISAGREE.

OK - here it is.  All the TTM mail Jerry Lee Lewis autographs I got.  Please DO NOT COPY or USE this image other than on this website.  Hopefully this image is not too large - I want it to all be together in one place.   Mr. Prater - I would love to hear you opinions of that I have and if you agree with everything.   This has been a journey to say the least!

And here is the last item I got TTM from Jerry Lee (Dec.) I am happy he signed both sides of the sleeve (I hate silver though) and the signatures have the traits Jeffrey spoke of, no squiggle, and the dotted i to the right of Lewis.  The only red flag is the 'T'.  The 'To Steve' on the front appears to be in someone else's hand, but the the 'Thanks' on the back appear legit.  Jeffrey has been a tremendous help on this topic and has put to rest some of the questions about autographs obtained TTM.  His info has been great!  Thanks Steve for taking the time to speak with him.

Jeffrey, Here’s an interesting one (thanks to Grant for the image). May I ask your opinion of both the signature and inscription? It contains a “TO” that appears as a “numeric 2” followed by a small “O” that you’ve described along with a “Thanks” that is consistent with the inscription received by PIX11. It also has the squiggle line under the signature.

Who is saying this one is real??  What is the history of it?
