Imagine if a food critic wrote a review claiming that a restaurant was serving turds and they turned out to be steak tartare.

I wouldn't eat either one!

To be clear, I’m not suggesting that one should disregard logic and accept the book signatures as authentic based solely on faith. That would be a complete misrepresentation of what it believe. That’s why I said that JLL and Judith’s statements were clues. They are pieces of a larger puzzle. They are not the end of the discussion, but should be considered in the overall picture.

Here is the word from Judith Lewis. "JERRY LEE SIGNED 750 BOOKS. I NEVER SIGN HIS NAME AND NEITHER DOES JW".  She also went on to say he still signs books at home and cds. Finally she mentions that persons making false claims about them can be sued.

Well, the only thing I personally have ever said is that the signatures in my opinion match JW Whitten's autograph more than Jerry Lee Lewis's. If he signed them himself, why not do it at the event and remove any question? Their statement and the evidence do not seem to agree. Hopefully the truth will completely come out whatever that might be. Also, but correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it said earlier in the thread that JW admitted to sometimes signing things sent backstage or up to the room for Jerry Lee to sign? The only other point that I will make is that it certainly seems strange that if Jerry Lee signed the books himself that not one that we have seen looks anything like previous examples deemed authentic.

Most of his fans probably don't see it as possibly being an issue. Keep in mind that he is 79 years old. He can't sign 750 books at his own leisure?

Where did you get that from Chad??

thanks

Mark

I asked her.

hmmm…..

I have not studied JLL's  signature previously.  But I just put all of the examples shown in this thread and the first one, into folders and compared them.  As for the signature on the books, at least the examples I have looked at, they are certainly closer to JW's version than they are to what have been shown to be authentic JLL examples.

Are there  other examples of JW's signature available? I thought I had seen some in the past.

I wasn't there when the books were signed so I can't be certain 100% just like the rest of us. I'm not sure at this point if a whole lot more can be revealed to persuade people one way or another.

I think I mentioned this before but I wouldn't spend $100 or more for one of these signed books. The signature is thin and weak and I'd rather get one of the nice items that pop up on ebay once in a while or the one Roger is offering.

I dont really think that contacting Judith or the JLL camp anymore is going to help.  I mean, they arent going to admit it, if it indeed is true.
