I believe the signature to be authentic but I welcome opinions. I know that it is in poor condition, however I would like any thoughts of a time period for the photo paper of the photo. The seller didn't know much about it but thought that it might be 60's era. My intentions is to take it and have it cut down that would look the best due to its condition, slide it in a photo top load and have it framed to preserve it. You might ask why would I want this in my collection? I only paid $10 for it. I look forward to any thoughts, Thanks

I think it’s real. But I would wait for Steve’s opinion as he was the one that helped me get my Jim Brown autographed picture.

Definitely good.

Thanks guys. Any thoughts on the era that the photo may have been signed? Or the era that aligns with this type of film paper?

The signature is from the 1990’s or newer.  The photo is kind of irrelevant because the person who printed it may have used older paper, but printed years later.  When I couldn’t find a good action photo back in the early 90’s, I used a nice full size magazine from from the 50’s.  Doesn’t mean it was a vintage signature from the 50’s as I’m sure you know.

Good points on the photo and signature era. Have you seen many known early signatures of Jim Brown? I'm curious if the early signature is consistent or how much it may have changed to what were used to seeing. I haven't heard much if he was people friendly or how he treated fans during his playing or acting days.

I can’t tell you about his playing days, but the three times I met him, he was always very cordial.  As far as earlier signatures, the one thing that was significantly different, was that he would not make a loop with the bottom of the J.
