I went to the Barns and Noble website and it states "meet and greet". In leu of signing the book, the author will"stamp" the book. No photographs either.
What a crock, who in their right mind would stand in line to get their book stamped by Anyone?! If you are going to be setting behind a table of books for 2 hours, at least sign the damn things. I could even see someone thinking, "I can't get his auto, but at least I can meet him and get a picture with him". But they aren't even allowing that. I hope no one goes to these two "events". I know I sure wouldn't.

Special Instructions
Event space seating will open at 5:00 pm on 4th floor. Priority seating with book purchase. In lieu of a signature, author will stamp book. No memorabilia or posed photos please.

He's doing another appearance @ B & N in LA. Their website does not have those restrictions posted. But it's early yet.

I called the LA store today and same restrictions, stamped books and no posed photos.

If you don't want people making money off you, wouldn't photo ops be the way to go?  They actually give you fans an amazing souvenir, and one they can't cash in on.  Giving them a piece of crap instead just demonstrates a big ego and utter contempt for the fans attending.

Somebody pre selling stamped books is saying Page is not signing due to his carpal tunnel.

He put out a signed limited run of the hardcovers a few years ago that the Zep heads jumped on in seconds. Surprised he's even going out to promote the book. He's also doing a couple of Q&As, the one in LA is going to be hosted by Chris Cornell of Soundgarden which goes on sale today (the signing is at another location). That would be a great thing to go to.

Publishers usually insist that they "promote" the book somewhat. I am only relaying what I read. Though I personally am suspicious, that seems to be the "party line" .

For $150+, i think not!

I agree. Carpal Tunnel my ass. Talk about buying your stairway to wherever..

Soon we will talk about "hand stamped", "autostamp stamped", "printed stamped" and "fake stamped" stuff.....

I agree, funny but may end up happening. Can see it now, I have photo proof of the celebrity stamping this book
