The condition/presentation eliminates it for me.

I go by the rule if I can't tell at a glance whether they are good or not then I avoid

As a rule...The Beatles would almost always sign on the light area of whatever they were signing...(program...photo...promo card...etc.)...so that you could see the autographs. Forgers usually sign on the darker area which would provide lousy contrast...and hopefully fool the buyer...
