John Paul Jones Opinions?

Greetings, all...

this is pretty cool. I joined this site just over three weeks ago when I bought my first real piece of memorabilia - an autographed album from John Paul Jones. While doing research for that, I actually came across an address for his rep company I think it was. I shot off a letter three weeks ago and got this in the mail today.

What is the opinion of this?

That’s definitely JPJ’s signature, but without seeing it in person it’s hard to tell if it’s printed, stamped, or actually signed. Are you able to tell if it’s really signed?

Hey, Devon. Yes, in the flesh you can look at it and clearly see that not only does the ink flow as if the sharpie might be starting to run out of ink in the longer strokes (you can’t really tell this in the pics) but in the light you can also see darker spots or a glob of ink where letters began and ended - if that makes sense? Definitely not a print or stamp.

I’ve also seen other examples of this exact picture on eBay and through google with autographs, so I am assuming his rep company has some of these signed on hand to respond to fan mail. I sent a short letter and two CD covers (which they returned unsigned).

Here is one JPJ signed last week in Poland. (Plant signed way back when) Jimmy would be nice on this but next to impossible I've heard.

That is really cool! I’ve got a nice in through the out door signed by JPJ and I also recently purchased a very nice piece from member here with page and plant sigs on the Zep IV insert with stairway lyrics.

I also sent off a letter to addresses for page and plant that I came across online, but I’m not holding my breath on getting any response.

Beautiful Bruce! Did you ask JPJ to sign in black or that’s just the pen he had and went with? And yes, sadly, the odds of getting Page to sign this are slim. Not impossible, but very slim.

I sent it to a guy on the RACC Facebook page who knew where JPL was going to be so it was almost like a private signing as he did a bunch. Didn't have choice of pen but I'm very happy with it.
