Is anybody familiar with this type of JSA sticker? It's on an item which dates back to 2006. I'm familiar with the numbered JSA stickers version, but have not encountered this before.

Is it legit?

It may be the type of sticker that is placed on an item that comes with an Auction House LOA.  Did you attempt to contact them about it?  They should be able to answer your question over the phone.

Thanks, Mike.  It is. Exchanged a few emails with their customer service rep who was very helpful and responsive. Turns out, it was part of a bulk auction authentication.

Like Mike said usually they put that on items in an auction. In my case i purchased 12 Tony Kubek baseballs and they applied that sticker to the outside of the baseball box. I think it just lets the auction house also know that these are authentic when they come through and are looking at all of the items being auctioned off. If you purchase the item it is typically accompanied with a ALOA from them and if you would prefer you can purchase a full LOA from them at a reasonable price.

Apparently, the item (a Vince Lombardi hand drawn play) was a part of an auction and this is one of their mass review item stickers. I confirmed this with JSA by email, and they reconfirmed the authenticity of the item as well as the sticker. Like you mentioned, they also offered the upgraded LOA at a reasonable price, too.
