I don't like this signature and I don't think it looks natural.

Very good Judy Garland signature study found here: https://d9qs7xii78j0x.cloudfront.net/content/pdf/Autograph_Magazine...

Greg wrote and I sent some observations which I thought I would post here as well.

I feel there is a bit too much ink, especially in the parts of the last name. The inscription "sincerely" seem uncomfortable. The odd ending trail off the "J", ("J" itself a bit odd), with that hook, and a strange unnatural break before the "d" also. The formation of the "d" as well. The whole thing lacks Garland's flow/form and the last name shows this just as much as the first. If you read the sig study JJ linked, and look over the exemplars at Thecead.com you will see more. Look at the baseline with its strange hump, and the "r" in Garland...it seems to have some features of signatures from later in the 40's as well as earlier.

I attach my own Garland from 1954, although I no longer have this example.

I'm with you, Eric. Whenever I see a Garland like this, especially when it says Sincerely, I think secretarial, and secretarial = forgery.

It is good to be careful here - she is heavily forged.

Thanks to you gentlemen, I just saved myself $330 US that some poor soul paid for this forged example! ;)
