Greetings! I have been reading your discussions for awhile and have gained much new knowledge. Thanks for all you who care about this great hobby.

I was recently offered this signature from a AFTAL member but I have my suspicions. Any of your thoughts would be appreciated.

RR Auction did a comprehensive study of Judy Garland's autograph that you can find through this link. Not sure I think much of AFTAL.

I think it has a chance if its mid fifties style, though it looks like her sig usually tilts a little bit more to the right but I don't have a lotta time to research it. Thanks for the link though, enjoyed the read.

I appreciate the responses. According to the R&R study the signature appears to be most closely related to what they determine is a mid 50's secretarial signature. Understandable if a signed photo or index card but odd for an album page. It does not have her classic slant and it is one of the cleanest signatures I have ever seen if it is authentic. Heart wants it to be real; head says proceed with caution! :0)

Im fussy with my stuff. If I have doubts I don't buy. I would forever wonder if it was really good or not.

I try to be but I also know that the world could give a flip about my opinion. Today when someone purchases a major signature that must also try to determine if the the darn thing will pass a third party authentication process. Or risk being publicly called a bad apple and lose their investment. That's why this site is great cause cause people here have more collective knowledge that the third party guys. Just my 2 cents. Does anyone think the Garland signature is the real deal?

I decided not to purchase this Judy Garland. I love buying vintage Hollywood autographs but I also sell some items to grow my collection. One thing I look for is the "vintage look" of the items. The too good look scares me more than anything. For now, I will have to wait for another day to find the right Judy. Thanks for those who responded to my post.
