Could you please let me know if this Larry Bird Autograph is real and what defining characteristics are used to assess the authenticity?

On first view it looks good to me. I think you would assess this autographed like any other. Compare it to examples you trust and see if the characteristics match.

Hmmm, at first glance it looks authentic, however if you really examine closely, I’m concerned about the “r”. I have a pretty vast Bird collection and the “r”s usually are apparent that there are two, rather here, it’s looks to be just one. Can post some of my collection if you’d like to compare, but not sure about this one.

Thanks. I grabbed a photo from the official NBA store which shows close to one "r". There's also a Beckett Certificate of Authenticity. I also pulled up this link which has a few examples of one "r".

In regards to the last comment, I too have a good amount of Larry Birds (mostly basketball cards and posters) and I agree, this one is a bit suspect.
