Okay, so its late Sunday evening. Not a whole lot going on, so I thought I'd present this question: if you could have either David Letterman's autograph or Jay Leno's autograph, which one would you rather have? Let's disregard price here, because really, we'll just say that the autograph you vote for is equal to the show you prefer.

Now before we begin, let's remind ourselves that Leno and Letterman fans can be friends. It's okay really. Because if James Carville and Mary Matalin can stay married for all these years, apparently happily, then so can the fans of these two shows (be friends that is).

So without meaning to make anyone mad, my vote goes to David Letterman! I've always been a big fan. I always thought that his show was more creative, inventive, and off-the-wall. When I was in college at the University of Kansas in the mid-1980s, Letterman was almost like a cult figure - everyone took time out to watch Dave. To me, Leno's show always seemed more contrived and safe. Letterman seemed to take more chances and came up with more original material.

When it was announced that Leno and Letterman would face off in the same time slot, everyone I knew thought Dave would slaughter Jay. Of course, that didn't happen. I guess as an Italian-American, I should go with Leno, but my heart's always been with Dave. I'll miss him when he goes off in May.

So what's your take?
