Is anyone aware of any other online, viable, respected and viable buying/selling platforms for signed memorabilia besides ebay? Not necessarily auction sites like Heritage, etc. But more similar to ebay? Thanks...

Are you looking at this as a seller primarily?

Yes as a seller mostly but buying too.

As a buyer you can find a bargain here and there if you know your stuff. As a seller, it's a tough market to sell in. It seems if your items come with approved TPA certs that helps quicken the sales. Most experienced collectors just shop there for bargains. It has the most traffic and also is the most problematic environment to sell in.

The quick, easy answer is no - not even close. In Ebay's earlier years, I think it briefly looked like Yahoo Auctions might become a respectable competitor, but they were quickly left in the dust. Ebay is kind of the only show in town as far as this brand of online auction. Other sites exist but simply aren't even remotely as well recognized, and the trash to treasure ratio tends to be even more extreme. People don't want to sell anywhere else because of the sheer traffic that Ebay gets and the fact that absolutely no site out there even touches it.

There are some decent autograph company auctions - namely R&R and Autograph World. But those are decidedly different than the free-for-all auction format similar to Ebay.

Well..I hope some wealthy investor/entrepreneur decides to take them on.

facebook marketplace became bigger in the last year but doesn't touch ebay yet. If you are a trusted seller on RACC (a facebook group) you can sell there and also on a special group on ebay.

My final thoughts on this. Selling autographs is a tough business. Unless you are well established with quality autographs you are going to struggle. Period.

It's not the venue. It's just the era we live in. There is not enough urgency to buy. More choices with less buyers competing for them.

Patience is the key. One has to wait for the right buyer to come along. There is no short cut to success.
