I would LOVE to have The Lord if the rings cast autograph and I found this one and wanted to know if it's real I am soo not good at telling if they are real so I would really appreciate the help soo much. Thank you! http://neautograph.com/inc/sdetail/194. Also if you click on more images it brings up a different poster so I would wonder about that one too.

Hi Emma.  Unfortunately, neautograph.com is a known forgery outfit (if you type in neautograph into the search engine in the upper right corner of the screen, you'll find some threads about them on this site).  Even though I have only a modest knowledge of the autographs on that poster, I can tell that it doesn't look quite right.

Thank you!

I would not feel comfortable adding those autographs to my collection.

Thank you

No problem.  For the sake of curiosity, take a close look at the autographs on the posters.  I know that it is difficult because the photo does not allow itself to be enlarged.  Do you notice anything similar about the shapes and sizes of the autographs?  Do you notice anything similar about the way that the autographs are slanted?  What about the writing instruments that were used?  Do the posters appear to be signed with the same Sharpies and with the same amount of pressure applied to each of the autographs?  These are the things to look for.  Trust your instincts.

Ok thanks for the tips they will come in very handy :)

$155?

I would expect an authentic entire cast LOTR poster to command $500+ easily.

Exactly Mike.  Ian McKellen alone could cost $155.

Thank you so much! I thought that was a really low price haha

Hi Emma,

I agree with the others, NE Autographs, are one if, if not the biggest source of forgery autographed posters out there. Its a wonder they havent been busted by the FBI. Every item they sell is a forgery from what i have seen. And to be honest, they kind of seem proud of that fact.. Once they had Yellow Submarine posters signed by Paul McCartney and John Lennon for sale for 180 dollars. LOL

Oh wow ok thanks! That's nice to know

No prob Emma, i am glad to help.

And that sucker who bought one of those signed Beatles posters, was me, lol. When i first got into collecting i remember wanting the Beatles. So i look around and see these people wanting thousands of dollars for signatures, and i thought they were nuts. A couple quick google searches and i came across NE Autographs and Prestige Autographs. NE had Yellow Submarine (very large) posters signed by Paul and John for like 180 dollars, and Prestige Autographs (another company that sells pretty much all fakes) had a Ringo 8 by 10 for around 60 bucks i believe. So i thought i had a good deal. So i purchase them, and as i gained more knowledge, i realized i was a dumb sucker who needed to do my research. I was the stereotypical impulse wannabe collector (in the terms of Chris Williams, lol). But i quickly got my act together, and demanded a refund from NE. They did give me the refund but Prestige Autographs didnt. I still have that Yellow Submarine poster too. There are some scans of it somewhere on this site i believe. They didnt even want the poster back, lol.

When your dealing with companies like NE Autographs and AutographsNetwork.com it really is a slap in the face of every law abiding citizen that they havent been busted by the FBI yet. I mean they sell nothing but fakes. I dont think i have ever seen, or even heard of anyone purchasing a real autograph from them. It would be the easiest operation to shut down out there, but yet the FEDs dont care at all. It really is quite amazing.
