Here is a very weird item listed by eBay seller ctcardshows

This Mantle is a no question forgery, and I am not particularly fond of this Mattingly approval from JSA to begin with.

Take a look at this, a 1987 program "signed" by Don Mattingly and Mickey Mantle. This Mantle is a 100% forgery.

This item is accompanied by a JSA LOA, however when you look closely, the LOA is just for the Mattingly signature, and specifically states "1 signature", with a submission date of August 17, 2014. Yet the Mantle forgery is what is photographed on the LOA?

The LOA also states the 1 signature (Mattingly) is signed in blue ball-point pen, which is also incorrect, as this is clearly a blue sharpie. What is going on here? It is clear the Mantle was added after submission, however why is the Mantle photographed on the LOA? Is JSA this careless, or is this a manipulated copy?

Update:

JSA re-issued the LOA, and indeed did add Mantle to it (and corrected the writing instrument). Congrats JSA, you have certified an obvious Mantle forgery and now have it displayed proudly on your website:

The certification # does not bring up anything on JSA's cert check, according to the LOA this was only issued 4 days ago, so a delay entering the item into the database could be normal.

Contact JSA with the question, they are usually pretty apt to respond.  I do it all the time when I'm purchasing items that haven't been entered in the database (it can take weeks). Just don't be accusatory and you'll get an answer.

The flow on the Mantle looks good.

It's a forgery John, same forger who penned this:

Definitely Mantle forgery....there is something odd about that, as there wouldn't be a full LOA for a Mattingly sig, just a sticker and cert.

It looks slowly drawn to me

It's a cut above the normal crap we see but it is most definitely a forgery. I don't see it very often, but there are dead giveaways which I will not mention. It's no question fake, and PSA/DNA has failed the one I posted.
This item has been relisted with a new LOA and JSA has indeed certified this forgery. Blatant lazy work by JSA, an absolute joke.

Here's a link to the new listing and photo of new LOA  http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-YANKEES-YEARBOOK-DUAL-SIGNED-MICKEY-MA...

Yup that is it. An absolute joke. Cannot believe JSA certified this horrible Mantle forgery TWICE. Clearly, this seller has "clearance".

very strange, indeed

This is unreal from JSA
