Even the wrinkles and wear are the same - must be same item re Pickford.
Eric
Wow, good eye! You're right, the creases are the same. This is definitely the same item.
This site is invaluable. I think I will take Joe advice, and sit back and try to learn to walk and not run. Thanks to you all once again.
No problem! I'm actually still in the early phases of learning everything myself and this site has been such an amazing source. I collect vintage Hollywood too so it's been fun to look at some of the ones you have posted. It's a fun hobby!
As Joe says I have been lucky to be given the collection I have. Will keep asking you poor lot questions about what I have here. That should keep me busy for quite some a while.
IIRC,
Mary Pickford was to be Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd.
Eric
Interesting, I didn't know that. I think Gloria Swanson fit the part better just cause of the type of star she was in the 1920s as opposed to Pickford being such the sweet girl with curls character.
Not to mention that the film Desmond is screening with Holden in her screening room was actually shot by Max (Von Stroheim) and did ruin Swanson's career! William Holden's part was to be played by Montgomery Clift. The original introduction was very different too - starting out in a morgue.
