Would anybody know if this authentic? Just been offered it by a friend. He wouldn’t have a clue himself.

If it's not a pre-print, it's authentic. Is this an 8x10? If so, very nice!

Its 8.5x 6.5, he told me its good with some wear light creases and small tear. Any idea of a value?

Being the smaller size format, probably around $75 - $100.

Thanks Joe. he also offered me this.

Herbert Marshall.

Are you buying these? Don't know much about Marshall but here is a link of one for sale by a dealer who knows his vintage autographs. Something to compare this one to.

Please keep in mind that the size of the photo makes a big difference in value. 8x10 inch or larger are worth more.

Thinking of bying them. Herbert 5x7.

I will try to give you an honest opinion. The Pickford is nice but would be much better if it was a larger photo. She has minor collector interest. Thus, if I were you $50 would be the highest I would offer your friend on that one. The Marshall also has minimal collector interest. Maybe $25 or so. Would be decent items if you are building a collection and want them but keep your investment low. Just my opinion.

Thanks Joe. I will see him next week will make up my mind. I might start collecting.

You've got a great start on a very good collection with what you have. My advice, take your time and learn the marketplace. It's a buyers market right now. Once you learn to comfortably discern the value, you can do really well. Find a good few sources that will assist you.

Will take your advice. Its exciting looking and learning. Not working at the moment thats the trouble. Think he might want about 20-25 dollers for the picford, so I will think about that one.

And..you found this site. That helps give you an advantage.

My biggest concern with this one would be that it is a pre-print like Joe W. said. I recently saw this one on eBay. It is exactly the same which makes me suspect it is a pre-print unless that is the person that offered it to you.
