A local church is having a charity auction this weekend. The big item up for grabs is a guitar signed Paul McCartney. After reading the thread about bad items ending up in charity auctions and knowing zero about Beatle related items, I humbly ask for opinions on this one.

If questionable, I'll email the church to find out who supplied the items and the COAs. Other items for auction are a Sly Stallone signed boxing glove, and signed photos of John Glen, Mickey Mantle, and Charlton Heston.

Thank you!

Man… what church is this??

Mark

any other opinions?

Sorry, this is not real!

I agree. Not authentic, in my opinion.

I just found out the church got all the items from Autograph Store. Doing a quick archive search, those guys don't have a great reputation. But, they do "guarantee the authenticity for life".

they said they would send me photos of the other items tomorrow.

Good luck collecting on that guarantee.

I'm not personally interested in any of the items they're offering - even if they were real. I just want to give the church a head's up.

They're a forgery outfit and major scam artist.

They guarantee the autograph for life but they refuse to accept any reputable third party opinions. There is no way to prove an autograph is not real to those guys.

Some unlucky suckers will be ripped off.

Brian, It's funny you brought this up because I was reading something online about this today. The items are actually being supplied by a company called Charity Grow out of New York, Here is a link to the site

Hmm. I'm just going by what my contact at the church told me. She said Autograph Store. She didn't have access to the COAs. I suggested she get in touch with Roger and make sure the company would accept a return should Roger deem them bogus.
