After sitting about 2 metres away from The Boss and his band at the hotel bar in Adelaide Australia last night I managed, although Bruce was tough which he has been for the past 3 days I've been following him finally signed my album. It was 3am and both Bruce and Steve were extremely pissed (as you will see with Steves 'was here' mark). Met all the rest of the band, had a chat with Nils about working with Ringo Starr. It has been a vey surreal few days.

This is a funny story that happened me last year.....

I was in the Clarence hotel in templebar (owned by u2) for coffee with my girlfriend and saw that Bono was sitting a couple of tables over. I plucked up the courage to go over and tell him how big a fan I was and ask him for his autograph, he was such a nice a nice guy, very obliging, he shook my hand and signed a menu for me, but after a few moments he said he better get back to his coffee with his friend. I went back to my girlfriend, absolutely delighted and continued with our conversation. About ten minutes later Bono walked over to our table and pulled up a chair.... He told me that he was flattered that I was such a fan but that his friend who he was having coffee with was a bit 'peeved' that I didn't recognise him............ Turns out it was the boss himself, Bruce Springstein, and I didn't feckin see him!!!!

Great story!

Mark

Amazing story Gareth! Haha, I will guess Bruce was surprised, one of the greatest rockers in the history of Rock & Roll, not being recognized.

Ah, so when you say 'pissed,' you mean drunk. At first, I thought you meant the American meaning, which is mad. Great for you!

Took me a while to figure it out, too!

No Bono said that bruce was 'peeved' (annoyed!) . Haha, just cos we're Irish doesn't mean we're drunk all the time! :)

I was actually responding to the story that started all this, but I love your story, too. That's a hoot!

Yes sorry for the confusion I meant drunk. Yeah I know it's not the best signature in the world but there's a little story behind it and I've got an authenticity photo with Stevie if anyone was to question it
