Any Metallica fans/experts out there that can shed some knowledge on this 8x10 signed by James, Kirk, Lars & Jason. It obviously has some age to it as it's the "JAYMZ" version of Hefield's signature. Seller is asking $150. Comes with a COA from Celebrities Collectables/Vaughan Mills.

Celebrities was busted for forging and no longer have their store up in Vaughan Mills mall. I do know that not all of their stuff was bad though.

I'm no expert but I do have a Lars and Kirk signed pickguard and these sigs look nothing like it. They appear to be signed by the same person as well. Look at the curve at the beginning of Lars(the L) and at the end of James(the S). Almost identically formed.

These look like same hand forgeries IMO

Based on what Mike, Kevin and Ryan have all said, I'll be staying away from this item. Thanks for the input.

Dear Dustin, you seems like me a while ago so we'll start from the very beginning: is this seller a REGISTERED UACC or AFTAL dealer (not just a "good standing member") ? If he is not, ask him "why?" By the way, are you familiar with these organizations? Then get to it. Next: graphology is very dark area especially about the rock band members, I don't think you'll get a proper opinion or it simply will cost you a fortune so ask seller about a provenance of the item, insist on it !!! Can they provide you with one? Then do your home work if it was possible, NO ONE will do it for you, brother! Now, based on the fact that this is a full line up (what is extremely difficult to obtain), Metallica, photo, etc. price of $150 is too good to be true. My advice: do not buy it.

Now, lets get back to the beginning: go on the web site Autografica.com (of Garry King), Markus Brandes autographs and you'll find a link isitreal.com Read it and you'll get a basic knowledge how to avoid an obvious scumbags.

I'll gladly share with you my experience and modest knowledge as well, you can write me dmitriseleznev@yahoo.com

Personally, I would suggest MarkusBrandesautographs to find a nice, authentic item. He is a dealer of the year, very decent person and highly professional, reliable and respectable in this business. One of my items I've got from him a full and ORIGINAL line up of Deep Purple. But not for $150 of cause...

Best regards, Dmitri.

I would love to see the original line up of Deep Purple. I rarely see Rod Evans or Nick Simpers autographs.

Currently I'm employed on the ship but my work assignment is over soon. I'll scan and send it to you if you wish in about a 3 weeks. Man, I'm proud of it!

Sorry for keeping you waiting, being taking care of things... Now, as promised Deep Purple in flesh. Please enjoy.

N.B. Not for trade or sale (joking)

These are not genuine Metallica autographs. But the thing is that back in the days, Metallica was very accessible to their fans. I remember when I met them 1991 after they had released the Black album. They were playing a venue for 15.000 people and stopped their vans outside the venue to sign autographs to the fans that was waiting. They did the same thing when they got to their hotel. And this happened all the time. So the fans could walk away with all the autographs they wanted  from the band.

Hi All,

What do you make out of this one?

Does it look authentic?

Thanks

Thanks for the help Dmitri and Bjarne. I will definitely be staying away from this particular Metallica photo. Too bad they didn't still sign like Bjarne is talking about from back in '91.
