Hello to all,

I´m new here and hope you can give me some help. I bought this Fedora and i´m not sure about it´s authenticy. The seller get it in 1997 in a concert in germany and in 2004 he went to another event and get his autograph.

Rare and signed means - genuine

LLC - likely not genuine

PSA - likely not genuine

and now i´m waiting for "did they sign it" opinion

In my opinion, it seems genuine, also because the Fedora features underside Gold Tag - Made in USA WPL-5923

MJ used them in concerts and throw them to the fans.

Here some pics

Hope you can help me.

Many thanks!!!

Hi Agustin,

Autographs on hats can be hard to authenticate, so you need to get opinions from respected experts, too. Roger Epperson is the top modern music autograph authenticator and our lead music authenticator. Post a comment on his profile with a link here, asking for his opinion.

Hello Steve,

Many thanks,

I´ll do so

It was signed in 2006, sorry

Do you know at what event and in which city?

Yes, in Hamburg. he send me today some pics and video when he was there. A woman came from the house where MJ was, and took some items from the fans and then she went back to the house and MJ signed them.

This is the link he send me : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PbE-qkifKs

I don´t know if he really also was the there

in the pics are two girlfriends of him

i compared several autographs MJ signed as all in different styles but most are very similar to mine. some has the H, some not.

this for example is very close

OK, so far so good. Hamburg definitely happened and things got signed.

I have a friend who has a white fedora presented to her by Michael in person. I'll ask her to have a look at the picture and see if hers looks the same inside. Of course having an authentic hat doesn't make the autograph authentic, but it's still nice to be sure :).

The J looks unusual in your autograph, but like Steve says, hats are tricky. To my non-expert eyes it looks pretty good considering the object.

Many thanks,

but he gets the hat in 1997, don´t know where

take a look at this hat, the j is similar

But for me also the j is the doubt.

But the u (isnt a u) before the l is equal, the right side is higher and the M is perfect

Hahaha I just found the same image to post.

I agree. Like I say, to my untrained but not completely inexperienced eye it looks possible as a quick MJ autograph.

It might be good to see if other Hamburg 2006 autographs can be found online so one can see what kind of signature he did that day.

Yes, that´s funny!

Yes, that is a good idea.
