Here's my MJ for comparison, it's a full older one.

Thanks, Kris. The more I see the fuller Thriller-era MJs, the more I think that the one Gio posted could be a real, on-the-fly scribble.

Look at the "hael": The shape of the h upright is close and the hump of the "h" is right on. The "a" is very close, except the scribbled one is pointed at the top. The "e" is very close and the "L" loop is also within range for MJ.

"Jackson" doesn't look close at all, but he could have been bumped or moving. Still a hard autograph to authenticate and not one I'd want unless I was collecting variations of MJ's autograph.

True. But if he started signing the "scribble" then surely he would only have done the full ones when he had time? That is of course if he signed the "scribble" then.

Yes, you don't find many scribbles like the one Gio posted. At least I haven't seen many.

Did MJ sign his whole name with the letters throughout the 80's? I would have thought he started signing in his more recent way when after thriller.

He almost always signed his full name, but not necessary with each small letter being readable later in the decade, but most were nice and easy to read. There are always exceptions.

Thanks. Was always curious about that. Like you said I wouldn't buy it unless I was buying variations of MJ's autograph.

They could have seen it online and gotten a quick opinion on it first. Or they simply may have had no doubt it was good and PSA would call it so.

That's a fake !
