the date on the COA is a bit strange

That is the date it was authenticated. smh...

Yes, that is a COA from Roger Epperson who is the know-all of MJ sigs. That is a good Mike.

Im aware that is the date it was authenticated smh lol rofl ttyl etc.

I know nothing about MJ, my point was an authentication COA on a dead celebrity appearing on the date of the sale would be a red flag for me but you know more about jackson than I do apparently so carry on.

I guess I don't really understand your "red flag".. Roger authenticated it on December 3rd, which isn't a big deal. He does quick opinions for people all of the time on this site. This one was actually submitted and was given the full letter. This is a third party authentication service, so it is going to be given a certificate well after the autograph has been signed.

Where is the confusion? I'm apparently not understanding your worry I guess.

I don't understand either. Mickey Mantle passed away years ago but my JSA letter is dated 2013. Why? Because I submitted it in 2013. I don't get how that could be a red flag to anyone!

If you're looking for a reason to not like something though, I'm sure you can always find it.

Jesus Christ, like I said Im no MJ expert and have no clue who Roger is.  My point was simply if I was looking to buy an auction item that was closing, say, December 3rd, 2013 and the COA coincidentally said December 3rd, 2013.....I would stop and think about it....if it said say, June 3rd, it wouldnt be as odd to me.

The timing of the auction, if it was an auction, and the coa just stood out to me, I guess just me.  Red flag probably wasnt the right way to describe it. Apparently Roger is legit, the item is legit, and all is well in the world.

I´m obviously wrong here, but my first thought was: I don´t like the sig

I don't like it either. I trust Roger, but I wouldn't buy this particular item.

This album sold for just under $150 on eBay... really weird...

Good grief, that is an insanely low price for a legit MJ signed anything, let alone one authenticated by Roger. I am shocked it went for that low

"Could just be the width of the marker, but looks too heavy-handed and slow to me to be Michael's characteristically light handed signature."

You hit the nail on the head, William. It's too heavy handed to be authentic.

Hopefully Roger will comment on the signature. The price is crazy, his letter coa must be a hundred bucks alone.
