On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Here is a $25,000 PSA Michael Jackson on ebay now that stinks to high hell.

I saw that- I laughed. I agree.

Does anyone know of someone who IS trustworthy??? Everyone just keeps posting about who IS NOT. This is not helpful!

Sandy,

PSA/DNA is in Irvine. You may be able to hire them to go up to Beverly Hills and look at the autographs, but it would probably cost thousands of dollars. They do not do expert witness work in court, either, as far as I know.

there is footage of him signing here is a good one at .50

Thanks. Do you know the year that was signed?

1996 or 1997

This is a cool one Charlotte!  Thanks!

It's this one. April 20, 1997 Grevin Museum - Paris.

In the second photo you can see the signature off to his left side.

These forensic experts are in California, can some (Steve, M. Frost) get someone to the auction that Julien's would listen to and consider a valid opinion to re-consider thus auction?

Sandy,

I think the odds of getting Julien's to listen to anyone are slim. All we can do is make our case and hope that as many fans and collectors as possible read it before they bid.

This is from Bush's book. This seems authentic in that it looks like Michael's handwriting. The last page of the 4 page set (on the right) looks darker and thicker than the first three pages that say To, Michael, Bush. Not sure if they were done at different times or if the last page is authentic.
