On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Amazing stuff, thank you, Michelle!!

It explains to a degree why Woolley apparently didn't flag up the items: if she says "it comes down to who they're from" and Bush is unquestionably legit himself, she would have had much more reason to trust the items from the go.

Thank you Michelle, i had Lauras saved on my desktop, downloaded it in case it disappears, i suggest other do the same, will listen to Darrens after work, Can you guys download and save Darrens too, GREAT work Michelle, Lv

Thank you, Michelle! I'm glad to see you posting again. We've missed you.

I agree!  :))

Wow, I think this is the first time since the discussion started that I'm waking up here in Europe to no additional overnight activity... Burnout, anyone ,)?

I've been putting our case on FB in response to the DJ interview and was actually feeling pretty tired repeating myself, too.

At least I feel that if somebody wants the truth everything they need is on that thread now. Ron Sweet from MJJC and (yes, indeed!) Don Bacardi provided the most punchy summaries, including a defense of Roger's integrity and expertise :). They caution against accusing any individuals, but agree that Julien at best provided no evidence to support his version and at worst was BS'ing outright, whereas all actual evidence points towards the autographs being fake. Since they're independent from this discussion thread their opinion may carry weight with the people who've been trying to convince themselves that this is all based on sour grapes/trouble makers within the autograph community.

However, overall I feel that the main thing that was "achieved" by sending in questions for that interview was alerting Julien to the full details of the case and evidence against the autographs. I'd be very surprised if that standee hasn't been destroyed by now.

On a lighter note: I had an email from Amazon recommending I buy "King of Style" this morning. Aaaaaaaaaghghghgh :D.

Well Helen,

I've been busy myself - all having to do with Darren and his b.s. with the Standee being bootlegged.  I am still double checking to fact check this.

On the standee.  If you zoom in our "bootlegs" logos... we all know that Bravado partnered back up with Triumph in 2009 - August to be exact.  When the standee was made happened anytime Oct 09 fwd. per Advanced Graphics phone conversation.  Well since Darren believes our bootlegger is a psychic and was able to figure out before MJ died that Triumph and Bravado were going to partner back up again later that year (choke--ok trying to swallow that) - I kept looking at that logo area... and I zoomed in further.

See the lines under the classic MJ Dance feet logo?  Mhmm, words... a company's words.  A medium sized line, a longer line and a short line.

Prior to MJ dying, this was the Logo being used (there is one with black surround white writing as well)

After MJ died, after Triumph became involved again they used "Triumph International, Inc." under the feet on products.

Those lines now make sense... space, width etc.

We know the feet alone existed for a long time and that Michael added wording below them a few times.  However, was Triumph International, Inc. EVER underneath the feet prior to MJ's death?

I checked with a gal named Leslie - who some of you might know, and she has a blog that basically has everything business that you can think of pertaining to Michael from long before MJ died to after--her blog is   Here

She said that the Triumph logo (as shown) was never used before MJ died.  Was it ever registered with trademarks??  I don't know, because I'll be damned if I can figure out how to search out all the trademark logos and not miss it.  I want to be absolutely sure before I say it was never used.

But just think, now our bootlegger knew of a logo too that may have never been used on MJ products previously! Why sell MJ sigs, when the lottery would probably be more profitable with this persons amazing psychic abilities.

I freakin hope that this goes to court, I really do, and that everything about this standee is dissected.  The evidence of the actual standee might have physically disappeared but EVERYONE has copies of the photos of that standee - and the entire webpage showing it.

If anyone can show that exact logo on an item prior to MJ's death, please let us know.

Great, great work, MJ-fan-1965. You guys never cease to amaze me. Nail by nail you make the coffin to bury them in.

I have a feeling a photograph is probably much weaker evidence, though there are technical possibilities now to determine if an original was tampered with. The main thing is that the police even get this far with their own investigation!!

I've also been wondering about Advantage, is their logo legible somewhere on the Julien photo (does a higher res version exist)? That would be another impossible thing for a bootlegger to get right.

I don't know how the girls came up with Advanced Graphics, maybe from Felix, I don't know.  But I know you were concerned about that corner logo.... here it is on another standup product  (found on this page)

This is MJ's standee on Julien's page:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utU5e97qgMY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u6iTRcuipk

two vids above show that same type of "LIFESIZE STANDUP" logo on other standee's.

Warning the video's - well, you decide, they made me laugh... seriously what some people put on youtube is funny.

Ha-haaa! Brilliant. Yes, I was concerned about the blurb because exactly as happened on the FB discussion, this minor detail could be latched on to somehow construe that the bootleg claim could be true.

I knew you'd like those vids lol :)  I had to shut the guy off half way thru, saw logo and turn him off lolol :)

Great work, MJ Fan. If Julien's or Bush destroy the standee that could exonerate them, that would be rather interesting. I think it would work against them.
