On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

And you are correct MJ fan. You may have had a bad experience with Mr Frost, but I know him personally and he is 100% honest- tries hard. I dont think even professionals are full proof. No one can be perfect. I have friends who have had items authenticated by one authenticator only to be negated by others and vice versa from many different professionals. I have had Mr Frost look at some of my items and I had some fakes unfortunately. I would rather someone give me their doubts than tell me what Id like to hear and take my money. Too many of them around already.

Thank You Charlotte,
There is no mistake or bad experience in this case, it is simply jealousy and hatred.
That is why I rarely go on the web, things are sad and mistakes are made out of anger or without proper knowledge and information.
That is an important lesson I have learned, I think is wise to think , and re think before you write something on the web. What you say will stay with you for a lifetime. This case is going well and very good point are being expressed and reaching the right people. There are thing being done and looked into away from this website. If we all work together and not just jump to conclusions or act on emotions something may be done about this auction.
It is a harsh and dangerous thing to call someone a forger without proof or to say or print that a company would knowingly sell items that are not authentic. Please keep this conversation on the right path, and I think we will also be joined by some additional knowledgeable professionals.

I'm not jealous of P.A.A.S., nor do I hate them. Re-read my posts and you will see that my beef lies not with the truth. I won't spell it all out again here, I already said my piece. But again, my beef has nothing to do with jealousy or hatred. Don't get it twisted.

These signatures are strange to me, I don't think I've ever seen any like them before.

I agree.  I have never seen authentic MJ signatures like this.  I would stay away from them !!

To MichaelPureSoul and Anne Marie LaProvidenza:

Good Lord !! They are clearly both Michael Jackson's signature.

Are the operatives out in force tonight or WHAT?  Yet ANOTHER transparent attempt to rewrite Michael Jackson's TRUE HISTORY.  ENOUGH! with turning truth on it's head.  You really think you can "confuse and befuddle" a professional appraiser with the learned knowledge of Mr. Frost?  Unbelievable.

Or are you simply trying to confuse and befuddle the masses?  EITHER WAY, PEOPLE HAVE EYES.

I think the last two Mike Frost posted are fake, too. Good ones, but not real. Look at the retracing up the J on both. That's not the only thing, but one sign. These could have been machine signed. It's something we've been investigating.

I must tell you that I misunderstood what 2 photos MichaelPureSoul and Anne Marie LaProvidenza were referring to, and also you Steve when you say in your post below "I think the last two Mike Frost posted are fake, too. Good ones, but not real." I thought you were all referring to the 2 PAAS certified photos, not the 2 jittery, traced looking photos. I agree with you all 100% on those 2 examples. I truly thought you were calling into question Michael Frost's 2 certified examples. That's why I couldn't believe it. That's why I said ENOUGH.

I definitely do apologize for the misunderstanding.

Wendy,

I'm not sure sure about the PAAS certified ones. They may be good, but I'm not comfortable with them.

It's my opinion Steve that the two certified by PAAS are not authentic.  They looked like somebody traced to me.

Wow okay, I'm still learning here.  So those ARE the ones you referred to which you think may have been traced or machine signed?

I'll have to go study them again with a fresh eye.

I think they are both legit. You've never seen signatures like them before? Really?

You talking about the differences in Mike Frosst's signature between the 2 COA's he signed the same day?
