On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

"He said that many that we consider genuine were actually signed by Miko Brando, so those examples are off. The ones in the auction are the true ones."

P-O-P-P-Y-C-O-C-K

so my personal notes are signed by Brando. LMAO.

this is a joke. they're scared. looking for a loop hole. anything to silence us

Disappointed would be an understatement...

what was relayed to me was, "It's really funny because some of the "true" examples they are showing were signed by Miko Brando."

They in this context would mean the commentors here on AML.  Which specific ones were also not identified.  Until I posted a comment on Jullien's position some pages ago Miko Brando's name had never been introduced.

The only person that can pull this auction is Darren Julien.  It does not appear he has seen any demonstrable evidence, at this stage.  Maybe there will be a smoking gun but unprofessional comments or unfounded allegations most likely is not going to sway him one iota.

Letters personally received by fans from Michael were not signed by Miko, What Darren is saying is not correct

"unprofessional comments or unfounded allegations...."

Mr. DB, please check yourself in this regard.

There is no way Darren can disputed the signature signed by Michael as we have a video posted here of Michaels signing at Gardener St School, plus numerous official docs, the signatures posted here are genuine the ones in the auction are not!

Correct.

This has been happening for awhile now at Juliens- this is just the worst case lately but look at this pic in my album of auctioned items on facebook. Is this genuine?

i took a picture of this item several weeks back at the London exhibition.. it wasn't signed then.. or is this a second copy ??

I don't see anything wrong with this one either. It looks very much like the signature inside the Thriller jacket, doesn't it?

The one I posted sold in 2010 at Juliens.  But Im sure he had more than one of these. It was a tour worn item.

Steve, if you are referring to Charlotte Stanley's  example, it looks to me to have MUCH wrong with it.

The awkward, amateur looped N in Jackson.  The narrow, smooshed M in Michael - is just as in page after page of the Julien's-Bush fakes.  The "two swoop" J in Jackson - you can see where the bottom swoop stopped and they "added" an extra flourish to it (I don't believe that is due to the fabric).

And the "Love" is the same as Bush's "Love".

What do you think?

Agreed the "Love" gives away every time, i wonder if Juliens would be forthcoming with who commissioned this item
