On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Yes to everything you said, sadly.

Bush also recently told fans at his exhibition that "Michael is a business now".

Justin,

Sorry, I'm just catching up with a lot of this. Could you please tell me how you know that Bush is running and hiding from friends over this?

Assuming these are forgeries, like most of us are sure they are, I think that whoever forged them would only be responsible for financial damages to Julien's at this point, unless Julien's files a crime report. Once they're sold, each buyer is a victim and the forger could be facing several years of prison time.

As embarrassing and expensive as it can be, if someone forged these they will be much better off coming clean now. They need to talk to an attorney and figure out what to do.

Justin can you post as many of your autographs/letters as possible. What about the birthday card from Vegas ?

If that's the case, then you folks should surely have no problem showing the auction house as being in the wrong. Possibly even knowingly so.

I'm not DB, so I can only communicate what is easily read from his statements. As a matter of fact, he even gave you people a clear direction to follow. Granted, it will take some homework, but lucky for you.... He opened the door by providing information of substance.

When it comes to DB and Steve, it seems that DB only wants Cyrkin to play fair. I have never seen any sort of "vendetta" from DB though.

In this case, DB simply put fourth more information than was originally presented in this thread. Remember, "don't shoot the messenger".

Why so cryptic?

And why is it "us folks"? Either you care about the integrity of the industry or you don't. So which is it? Are you here to help or make fun of people? If you're here to help, enlighten us. Otherwise you're wasting everyone's time.

It isn't cryptic at all. Thanks to DB offering up more information, he showed you folks ( you folks with the examples that are being shown here ) how you need to be countering the auction items.
Brandon,

Please. These members, and DB, need to understand that you work for what was once perhaps the biggest authenticator of forgeries on the planet, GAI/Global Authentics. Thanks to our members, this site has exposed more Global mass-certified forgeries than anyplace else. You have gone out of your way to make me look bad when you could for most of this year. And sometimes you have been using DB for that, who I consider a well meaning, honest guy.

I am playing completely fair. Neither you nor DB have done the research many of us have done. The Miko Brando secretarial issue is a red herring. I don't care if it's discussed, but identifying Miko Brando MJs is not relevant to this topic. Let Julien's identify them if they think they matter.

I am trying to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family and am going to try to check in here as little as possible. Why don't you spend the rest of the day with your family, too?
